I'm someone who enjoys alone time, especially with my camera. I love when I don't have to engage in conversation or have errands to run, and can go someplace to take it all in with no other distractions and be fully present.

At a low point in my life, I managed to reclaim a bit of my joy, and it culminated in the photo you see here. It was Chinese New Year in San Francisco, and it was drizzling rain. I didn't care, though, because I was in my favorite city. Then, as I turned a corner at the top of a hill...

I gasped, and my mouth actually fell open! As I raised my camera to shoot, my smile slowly returned. Wearing a funky-smelling, non-waterproof raincoat (as I learned that day), and with a sea of color before me, I couldn't have been happier!
